The City owns and rents out 121 furnished rooms for which tenants must meet allocation criteria established by the law in force.
Eligibility criteria
The criteria for obtaining a furnished room are set by the law in force:
The conditions for applying for an affordable lease are as follows:
- The applicant must be a natural person who is 18 years of age or older on the date the application is filed.
- Neither the applicant nor any members of their household may be owners, usufructuaries or emphyteutic leaseholders of residential property, nor may they hold an undivided interest of more than one-third entitling them to reside in any other accommodation in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg or abroad.
- The monthly income of the applicant and the members of their household must be less than or equal to the eligibility cap established based on the composition of the household, in accordance with the table below:

The values in the table are calculated based on the sliding wage scale index of 944.43.
- The applicant and the members of their household must enjoy a right of residence for a period of more than three months at the time the application is made, in accordance with the Law of 29 August 2008 on the free movement of persons and immigration, as amended (loi modifiée du 29 août 2008 sur la libre circulation des personnes et l'immigration).
- All processed applications must be updated once a year.

Applications must be made using the below form and sent by post to the Service Logement (Housing Department):
Once a year, a letter is sent to all prospective tenants inviting them to update their application. Applications that are not confirmed will be removed from the waiting list.
