Tram
The T1 tram line will continue to operate all day on 26 September 2024.
However, there will be some changes to the tram service between 12:00 and 14:00 (approximately).
During this time,
- the tram will run on two sections: Luxexpo–Hamilius and Luxembourg Central Station–Stadion
- the tram service will be suspended on the section between Hamilius and Luxembourg Central Station; the stops "Place de Metz" and "Paräisser Plaz / Place de Paris" will not be served.
AVL: General information
From 9:00 to around 18:00, due to the closure of the link between the Gare district and the city centre (Pont Viaduc and Pont Adolphe), all AVL bus lines operating between Luxembourg Central Station and the city centre will be diverted. There will be no service to the "Roosevelt" stops (Quais 1 and 2).

AVL lines 2, 3 and 33
From around 9:00
Between the Gare district ("Wallis" stop) and the city centre ("Hamilius" stop), buses travelling in both directions will be diverted via Place de la Gare ("Gare Centrale" stop), Rue de Hollerich and Route d'Esch.
No service at this stop
There will be no service to the "F. D. Roosevelt" stop in either direction.
AVL lines 4 and 14
From around 9:00
Between Cessange ("Barrès" stop) and the city centre ("Hamilius" stop), buses travelling in both directions will be diverted via Rue de la Déportation, Rue d'Alsace, Rue Wenceslas 1er, Rue de Hollerich and Route d'Esch.
No service at these stops
There will be no service to the "Aciérie", "Gare Centrale", "Al Avenue" or "F. D. Roosevelt" stops.
Stop changes
Due to the altered route, buses calling at the "Fonderie" and "Jean-Baptiste Merkels" stops in Rue de Hollerich will stop on the opposite side of the road before continuing on towards the city centre. The "Wenceslas 1er" stop will replace the "Gare Centrale" stop.
AVL line 5
From around 9:00
As the city centre will be closed to vehicular traffic, there will be no service between the Gare district ("Wallis" stop) and the city centre ("Hamilius" stop). Service will be split into a western route and a southern route. Buses on the western route will call at all stops between the "Bertrange-Gemeng" terminus and "Hamilius Quai 1" before continuing onward as a line 10 service towards "Steinsel, "Buergaass". Buses on the southern route will call at all stops between the "P+R Stade de Luxembourg" terminus and "Gare Centrale Quai 2" before continuing onward as a line 10 service towards "Bertrange, Belle Etoile".
No service at this stop
There will be no service to the "F. D. Roosevelt" stop.
Travelling between the city entre and the Gare district
The tram and AVL lines 2, 3, 4, 14, 18 and 33 will provide connections between the city entre and the Gare district.
AVL line 9
From around 9:00
As the city centre will be closed to vehicular traffic, there will be no service between the Gare district ("Wallis" stop) and the city centre ("Hamilius" stop). Service will be split into a north-eastern route and a south-eastern route. Buses on the north-eastern route will call at all stops between the "Cents-Waassertuerm" terminus and "Hamilius Quai 2" before continuing onward as a line 13 service towards "Belair, Centre hospitalier". Buses on the south-eastern route will call at all stops between the "Hamm-Rue de Bitbourg" terminus and "Gare Centrale Quai 2" before continuing onward as a line 13 service towards "Gasperich, Boy Konen".
No service at this stop
There will be no service to the "F. D. Roosevelt" stop.
Travelling between the city entre and the Gare district
The tram and AVL lines 2, 3, 4, 14, 18 and 33 will provide connections between the city entre and the Gare district.
AVL line 10
From around 9:00
As the city centre will be closed to vehicular traffic, there will be no service between the Gare district (Luxembourg Central Station) and the city centre ("Hamilius" stop). Service will be split into a northern route and a south-western route. Buses on the northern route will call at all stops between the "Steinsel-Buergaass" terminus and "Hamilius Quai 2" before continuing onward as a line 5 service toward "Bertrange, Gemeng". Buses on the south-western route will call at all stops between the "Bertrange-Belle Etoile" terminus and "Gare Centrale Quai 1" before continuing onward as a line 5 service towards "P+R Stade de Luxembourg".
No service at these stops
There will be no service to the "Al Avenue" or "F. D. Roosevelt" stops.
Travelling between the city entre and the Gare district
The tram and AVL lines 2, 3, 4, 14, 18 and 33 will provide connections between the city entre and the Gare district.
AVL line 13
From around 9:00
As the city centre will be closed to vehicular traffic, there will be no service between the Gare district (Luxembourg Central Station) and the city centre ("Monterey" stop). Service will be split into a southern route and a western route. Buses on the southern route will call at all stops between the "Gasperich, Boy Konen" terminus and "Gare Centrale Quai 1" before continuing onward as a line 9 service towards "Hamm, Rue de Bitbourg". Buses on the western route will call at all stops between the "Centre Hospitalier" terminus and "Hamilius Quai 1" before continuing onward as a line 9 service towards "Cents-Waassertuerm".
Travelling between the city entre and the Gare district
The tram and AVL lines 2, 3, 4, 14, 18 and 33 will provide connections between the city entre and the Gare district.
AVL line 17
From around 9:00
Line 17 buses will be diverted via Boulevard Pierre Dupong, Avenue du X Septembre and Avenue Guillaume. Buses will call at "P+R Bouillon", "Hollerich-Kierfecht", "Athénée", "Guillaume" and "Monterey/Hamilius". Exceptionally, buses travelling towards P+R Bouillon will depart from the "Monterey Quai 3" stop.
Every other bus will continue onward as a line 22 service towards "Belair, Centre Hospitalier".
No service at this stop
Buses on this line will not call at the "Heentze Park" stop.
AVL line 18
From around 9:00
As the city centre will be closed to vehicular traffic, buses on this line will not be operating on their usual route (Avenue de la Gare / Boulevard Roosevelt) between the Gare district and the city centre. After the temporary "Wenceslas 1er" stop in Rue Wenceslas 1er, buses travelling in both directions will be diverted via Rue de Hollerich and Route d'Esch before continuing on to "Hamilius".
No service at these stops
There will be no service to the "Gare Centrale", "Al Avenue" or "F. D. Roosevelt" stops.
Stop changes
The replacement stops in the Gare district will be "Fonderie", "Jean-Baptiste Merkels" and "Wenceslas 1er Quai 1" (for buses travelling towards Kirchberg) and "Wenceslas 1er Quai 2" (for buses travelling towards "Kockelscheuer-Patinoire").
AVL line 19
Line 19 buses will not call at "Cathédrale", "Gruef", "Kasinosgaass" or "Badanstalt". This change will be in force for the entire day. From 9:00 to 18:00, buses will run between "Hamilius" and the "Neumans Park" terminus only.
No service at these stops
There will be no service to the "Gare Centrale", "Al Avenue Quai 1" or "F. D. Roosevelt Quai 1" stops.
AVL line 20
From 9:00 to 18:00, line 20 buses will operate along their normal route between the "Gare Centrale Quai 1" stop and the "Kockelscheuer-Parc Luxite" terminus. Buses returning from the "Kockelscheuer-Parc Luxite" terminus will travel only as far as the "Wallis Quai 3" stop before continuing on as a line 22 bus travelling towards P+R Bouillon.
AVL line 22
From 9:00 on, service will be split into two routes. Buses on the southern route will run from "P+R Bouillon" to "Fonderie Quai 1" before continuing onward as a line 20 bus to "Gare Centrale Quai 1".
The line 22 service on the north-western route will operate in tandem with the line 17 service, which runs from the "P+R Bouillon" terminus to "Strassen-Primeurs" via the city centre.
AVL line 31
Throughout the entire day, buses departing from the "Reckenthal-Gäertnerei" stop will terminate at "Hamilius Quai 1".
No service at these stops
There will be no service to the "Cathédrale", "Gruef", "Kasinosgaass" and "Badanstalt Quai 2" stops.
Stop changes
The closed stops will be replaced by the "Forum Royal" stop.
P+R lines
P+R Bouillon
- AVL line 17/22: Buses travelling towards the city centre will operate every 5 minutes.
- AVL lines 10 and 22 : Buses travelling towards Luxembourg Central Station will operate every 10–15 minutes.
P+R Howald, Lux-Sud, Quai 1 (Centre douanier)

Line T1 (tram): Trams travelling towards the city centre via Luxembourg Central Station will operate every 5–10 minutes.
P+R Kockelscheuer Patinoire
- AVL line 18: Buses travelling towards the city centre ("Hamilius") will operate every 10–15 minutes.
P+R Stade de Luxembourg
- Line T1 (tram): Trams travelling towards the city centre via Luxembourg Central Station will operate every 5–10 minutes.
