Walking route

The City will be organising Apéri'tours in different districts across the city.

During these walks, the City's political leaders and various municipal departments will present new projects being carried out, both those already in progress and those being planned for the near future. In addition, the City officials will take advantage of these gatherings to engage in dialogue with participants on, among other things, local community spirit and opportunities to meet and interact with neighbours.

Duration

  • Walking tour: approximately 1 hour
  • Informal reception: approximately 1 hour

Journalist and founder of the "mémoires sonores" (sound memories) project, Laetitia Kozlova, together with the City's youth centres, will conduct interviews to create sound maps of the various neighbourhoods.

These will be enhanced by photos that participants are invited to take of their favourite places using instant cameras provided for this purpose (project of Ass. Prof. Catherine Jones and Tom Becker, University of Luxembourg, Department of Geography and Spatial Planning).

Architect Arnaud De Meyer will hold workshops on creating urban sketches of the places visited.

During these events, the Quartier-Maton – a project realised by YO Studio – invites onlookers who enter a stall resembling a polling booth to answer a few simple, offbeat questions so that architect and illustrator Etienne Duval can draw up a portrait of their neighbourhood.

The audio and visual data gathered in this way will enable the city to prioritise places of importance to the community.
