On Thursday, 4 July 2024, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen inaugurated the new playground near Discover the new playground located near Rue Lou Koster, in the heart of the "Val Sainte Croix" PAP.

With a surface area of around 1,645 m2, this fully fenced-in playground features an area for children aged 0 to 3 with a climbing frame and a small hut, a slide and swings for babies, as well as an area for older children with several swings, a climbing frame with suspension bridges and two slides. The playground also has a bird's nest swing, a carousel and a slackline. The ground is covered in sand, which provides a fun way for kids to get creative and play, but also serves as a shock-absorbent surface in case of jumps or falls.

In addition, a number of benches and picnic tables provide space for visitors to relax in the lush green setting, surrounded by trees.

Like the other playgrounds in Luxembourg City, the new playground in Belair is fully compliant with existing safety standards, and is regularly inspected by LuxControl SA, which awards playgrounds the "Sécher Spillplaz" label attesting to their overall safety and condition.

The City of Luxembourg is fully aware of the importance of playgrounds for children's quality of life and development and, accordingly, provides a number of spaces that cater to the needs of different age groups, from toddlers and young children to adolescents. In all, the City of Luxembourg operates 212 recreational spaces – including public playgrounds, multi-use sports fields, facilities for ball games, pétanque courts and skate parks – across the city.
