Starting with the tasty Ukrainian food available throughout the evening (the proceeds go to the CinEast4Ukraine charity project), CinEast’s Closing event has plenty of other treats for you. We start with a selection of entertaining short films to get you into a relaxed mood while accumulating energy for the evening’s main course: the Polish band NeoKlez!

Considered one of the leading representatives of inventive world music, NeoKlez skilfully blends traditional klezmer and Balkan music elements with inspirations from fresh club music, as well as jazz, funk and rock. Constantly evolving, the band’s vibrant sound combines acoustic instruments with modern synthesisers and up-do-date beats crafting music beyond genres, in which there are no barriers. Although the folk base is still there, it has been diversified with the addition of many contemporary accents, giving the group’s songs and live performances a truly unique stamp.

The band has given over 400 gigs all over Europe and beyond, including in Paris, Budapest, Brussels, Aachen or the Kosher Festival in Miami, and Luxembourg during the Fête de la Musique. In addition to numerous collaborations with other artists and vocalists and work on diverse projects (radio, etc.), NeoKlez also performed at the ceremonial premiere of Wojciech Smarzowski’s film The Wedding Day. In August 2024, the 5-member group released its highly anticipated new album Polifonie full of up-tempo dancefloor-friendly tracks that will form the basis of its CinEast gig.

After the gig, Croatian-born DJ Kneža, one of Luxembourg’s most loved and eclectic DJs, will keep you dancing with his cheerful and exuberant selection of beats and melodies from the Balkans, and other parts of the world.
