With the Winterlights festival and Sunday shopping drawing crowds in the lead-up to Christmas, the City recommends you use public transport to get around town. Simply leave your car at one of our many park-and-ride facilities, then take the tram or bus directly to the city center.
Municipal car parks on the outskirts of the city
The City of Luxembourg operates fives car parks on the outskirts of the city that are free for the first 24 hours. With a total capacity of nearly 5,900 spaces, these are ideal for those looking for hassle-free parking options that are mere minutes away from the city centre or the Gare district by public transport. All five car parks – which are located in Hollerich (P+R Bouillon), Kockelscheuer (P+R Stade de Luxembourg and P+R Kockelscheuer), Howald (P+R Luxembourg Sud A + B) – are served by frequent City bus and tram services to and from the city centre and Luxembourg Central Station.
