On Wednesday, 26 February 2025, the City of Luxembourg's College of the Mayor and Aldermen officially opened four new pop-up stores in the city centre and the Gare district.

"No Rainer", at 40, rue Philippe II, sells unique raincoats for the whole family. The brand has put together two collections, including a range of colourful, trendy and functional ponchos for both children and adults, and a range of stylish, transparent rainproof coats for women and men.

"Emergence", at 38, rue Philippe II, specialises in streetwear. Their collections feature items by independent designers from Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Switzerland. They offer a wide range of unique and authentic pieces that reflect their designers' vision and skill.

"Atelier Luxera", at 43, Grand Rue, offers a wide range of high-quality, ceramic tableware and ornamental items that add an extra touch of elegance and style to meals shared with family or friends. All items are hand-crafted by small family-run businesses in Portugal.

"Fashion House ", at 15, avenue de la Gare, is a project initiated by the Luxembourg Art & Fashion Foundation. The concept for the store was born out of a desire to provide a space featuring a production workshop, a showroom to display items for sale, and an area for workshops, all under the same roof.

The pop-up stores project

By providing commercial premises for rent on a short-term basis, the City of Luxembourg offers creators, entrepreneurs and start-ups a chance to test their products, services or concepts directly with their clientele. As such, the "pop-up store" is meant to serve as a springboard for tenants, enabling them to gain hands-on experience before definitively launching their business. Additionally, these temporary stores enhance the city's already-rich commercial offering, and broaden the city centre's appeal to a diverse customer base.

Owners of temporarily unoccupied commercial premises who are interested in contributing to the project can contact the City's Cellule Développement économique et commercial (Economic and Commercial Development Unit).
