On Sunday, Minister of Mobility and Public Works Yuriko Backes, Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer, Alderman for mobility Patrick Goldschmidt, representatives of the Municipality of Niederanven, Managing Director of Luxtram Helge Dorstewitz officially inaugurated the new tram section linking Luxexpo to Findel-Luxembourg Airport. A number of other guests were also in attendance.
With Line 1 now complete and serving 24 stations including 10 multimodal transfer hubs, the opening of this new section to the airport is a huge milestone in the expansion of the tram network. It is thanks to the efforts and commitment of all those involved that the completion of Line 1 has been possible.
With the opening of this new section of the tram line, the tram will now replace the respective AVL bus lines in carrying passengers between Kirchberg and the airport.
This extension has led to changes in the public transport network, optimising urban mobility and making it easier for users to get around on a daily basis.
The contrast ratio has been adapted for easier readability in line with accessibility standards.
The default contrast settings have been restored.
