duck race 2024

The 24th Duck Race, a traditional event organised by Roundtable Luxembourg under the patronage of the City of Luxembourg, will be held on Saturday, 26 April 2025 in the Neimënster courtyard. It is officially a "GREEN EVENT". This year's Duck Race is also being organised under the "AntiGaspi" label (anti-food waste), and with the help of the Luxembourg association "Rainforest", the event will be CO2 neutral through an offsetting project.

The event will kick off at noon with food stands and an entertainment programme for people of all ages. At 15:00 on the dot, some 20,000 ducks will be set afloat on the Alzette for their annual race. To participate in the Duck Race, you can sponsor one or more ducks by buying a ticket for €5 per duck either in advance at www.duckrace.lu or on site on the day of the race.

Proceeds from the event

All proceeds from the Duck Race will be donated to charities working for the well-being of children in need: Rokku Mi Rokka, Fondation Jugend- an Drogenhëllef, Study-Help ASBL, Pharmaciens sans Frontières ASBL, Pour une Parenthèse, Asha 4 Children, Entwécklong durch Gerechten Handel, Aide au Bénin. These associations will also be at the event to inform visitors about their goals and activities.

Sponsorship

If you would like to support a good cause and participate in this charitable lottery, you can sponsor one or more ducks by buying a ticket for €5 per duck either in advance at www.duckrace.lu or on site on the day of the Duck Race. All the ducks are marked with a lottery-ticket number. The "sponsors" of the ducks that cross the finish line first will win one of the many prizes donated by the event's sponsors, including trips, gift vouchers, dinners and more. This year, the first prize is a Volkswagen T-CROSS car.
