As part of phase 2 of the project to restore the natural ecosystem in the Pétrusse Valley, which involves redeveloping the park between the old lock gate in Bourbon and Rue d'Anvers, the following changes will apply to traffic flow, remaining in place for around 2 years:
Vehicular traffic
From 5:00 on Monday, 28 April 2025, Rue de la Semois (the section between Rue de la Vallée and the fork in the road at no. 55) will become one way, with traffic flowing down towards Rue d’Anvers. A diversion will be put in place from the intersection between Rue d’Anvers and Boulevard Dr. Charles Marx, via Boulevard Dr. Charles Marx, leading to the national highway and the city centre.
Pedestrians and cyclists
From 6:00 on Tuesday, 29 April 2025, the paths along the bed of the Pétrusse river will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists. To ensure cyclists still have a safe route between Ville Haute and Hollerich, a contraflow cycle lane will be established on Rue de la Semois (section between Rue de la Vallée and the fork in the road at no. 55). The City of Luxembourg's Service Circulation (Traffic Department) will install appropriate diversion signage from the intersection between Rue de la Vallée and Rue de la Semois for the south side of the park, while for the north side, a diversion will be put in place from the start of Rue de la Semois towards Rue des Jardiniers.
