Festival Elsy Jacobs

During the second stage of the Festival Elsy Jacobs bike race, which starts in Cessange on Sunday 4 May 2025, traffic disruptions are to be expected.

Road closures and traffic changes

As certain streets in Luxembourg City are part of the race route, the streets in question – Rue de Bouillon, Rue de Cessange, Rue Tubis, Rue Kohlenberg and Rue de Leudelange –, as well as the streets adjacent to the route, will be closed to all traffic from 10:00 to 18:00. However, local residents will be allowed access, but only in the same direction as the race. Parking will be prohibited on both sides of the race route on Rue Cessange and Rue Tubis from 8:00 to 18:00.

Changes to municipal bus services

Line 4 buses travelling towards Leudelange will be diverted after the "Fischerhaff Quai 2" stop via Chemin de Roedgen and Boulevard du Brill. The "Cessange-Kierch" and "Cessange-Duerf" stops will be closed and replaced by the "Am Brill Quai 2" stop. In Leudelange, buses will not be calling at the "Schaefert", "Queesche Wee", "Galgebësch" or "Gemeng" stops, and will instead call at the temporary "Wäschbur" terminus.

Line 4 buses travelling towards Luxembourg will be diverted from the temporary "Wäschbur" terminus via Rue du Lavoir, the N4, Route d'Esch and Rue Verte. Buses will not be calling at any of the stops in Leudelange, or at the "Rue de Leudelange, Am Eck" and "Cessange-Duerf" stops. 

AVL line 13 buses travelling towards Boy Konen will be rerouted after the "Louis de Froment" stop via Rue Verte. The "Rue Verte", "Kuelebierg", "Tubishaff", "Antoine", and "Rue de Leudelange" stops, and the "Boy Konen" terminus, will be closed and replaced by a temporary terminus on Rue Verte in front of the Cessange elementary school. 

For buses travelling towards Gasperich, the "Boy Konen" terminus and the "Rue de Leudelange", "Antoine", "Tubishaff", "Kuelebierg" and "Rue Verte" stops will be closed and replaced by the temporary terminus on "Rue Verte" and a temporary stop in front of 2–6, rue Verte.
