FORLUX

On Thursday, 3 April 2025, the City of Luxembourg, in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity (Ministère de l'Environnement, du Climat et de la Biodiversité), the Nature and Forest Agency (Administration de la nature et des forêts), and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), unveiled its research project "FORLUX – Health, adaptation and sustainability of Luxembourg City forests" at a research site in Bambësch. This multi-year project, financed by the ministry through the Luxembourg Climate and Energy Fund (Fonds climat et énergie), aims to set up experimental plots to observe and measure how municipal forests react to new weather conditions over the long term, and to lay the groundwork for new forest management strategies
