Youth centres

Nine youth centres and clubs are located throughout the city. Their work with young people is crucial.

They are important social hubs in their local neighbourhoods, serving as a venue for activities, meetings and parties, as well as organising outings for young people. These centres also participate in the activities of other associations in the neighbourhood, making them a strong part of the social fabric of the local community.

The social and preventive aspect of these unseen efforts is essential. The young people help each other, coordinate their efforts to plan activities at the centre, and learn to be more responsible towards each other. In other words, the centres focus on engaging young people in social activities that foster their personal development.

The City helps youth centres fund their activities. It also provides venues, purchases furniture and equipment, pays the youth workers, and supports leisure activities. The conditions for receiving this type of aid from Luxembourg City are defined in the agreements signed in 2012 with three associations that manage seven youth centres.
