My Urban Piano 2024

These rules relate to the organisation of a contest as part of the "My Urban Piano 2024" project in which the winners are issued vouchers. They govern the way in which the contest is organised, the terms and conditions of participation, and the means of selecting the winners.

The video contest is organised by the Administration communale de la Ville de Luxembourg (Municipal Administration of the City of Luxembourg, hereinafter the "City"), represented by the College of the Mayor and Aldermen, 42, place Guillaume II, L-1648 Luxembourg.

Art. 1: Terms and conditions of participation

This contest is open to anyone aged 16 or over.

From 16 May to 18 June 2024, if you post a video of a mini concert or other piano-related performance to Facebook or YouTube with the hashtags #luxembourgcity and #myurbanpiano2024, you will have the chance to win a €150, €250 or €500 gift voucher donated by the City of Luxembourg.

Winners will be selected in two categories: "musical performance" and "original video showcasing the piano".

In addition, entrants must send the link to the video on Facebook and/or Youtube to concours@vdl.lu. They should specify their own first name and surname, and those of the camera operator. Entries which do not provide a means of identifying or contacting the participant will not be considered. This includes entries that list email addresses the City believes to be fraudulent or false. Participants are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide.

By taking part in the contest, participants are deemed to have accepted these rules in their entirety.

Art. 2: Judging panel and prizes

The College of Aldermen shall appoint the judging panel who will decide on the winners. The panel will watch all the videos submitted and choose the winning entries.

The panel will decide by majority vote, and award the following prizes:

  • 2 vouchers with a value of €500;
  • 2 vouchers with a value of €250; and
  • 2 vouchers with a value of €150.

Only the winners will be notified, via the contact details they provide when sending the link to their video to concours@vdl.lu. The notification email will explain how to claim the prize vouchers.

Art. 3: Publication

By participating in the contest, participants authorise the City of Luxembourg to make the video freely available, on any type of medium, especially electronic (website, Intranet, social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.), in any type of format, for an unrestricted number of plays, either in whole or in part, for the purposes of corporate communication.

Art. 4: Limitation of liability

No disputes may be brought in relation to the winnings – be it regarding their nature, their amount, any request to exchange them or exchange them for their cash value, or any other type of request.

The City of Luxembourg may not be held liable, especially in the following circumstances:

  • in the event of cancellation or postponement of the video contest or limitation of the time window for taking part;
  • in the event of any operational problems during the contest.

These regulations are governed by Luxembourg law. Any claims or disputes that cannot be settled amicably shall be finally settled by the Luxembourg district courts only.

Art. 6: Protection of personal data

In accordance with the legislation on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, those personal data disclosed to the City of Luxembourg by participants when taking part in the contest will be processed by the City's staff who are involved in organising the contest and selecting the winners.

The personal data will be processed solely by the staff of the various City of Luxembourg municipal departments involved in running the contest.

The City will retain participants' personal data until the winners have been notified of their win. The data will then be deleted and destroyed, unless they are transferred to the City of Luxembourg's Service Archives municipales (Municipal Archives Department) for subsequent processing for archiving in the public interest, historical research or statistical purposes (pursuant to Article 1 5. (b) of the GDPR), or to the Luxembourg National Archives in accordance with the Law of 17 August 2018 on archiving (loi du 17 août 2018 relative à l'archivage).
