Victor, Ptolemy, Alfred, Rosie and Balthazar live in the same building. They don't know each other but something binds them: their relationship to happiness. Victor, popular and embodying perfection in all areas, thinks he has achieved it. Discreet and docile, Ptolemy had unlimited admiration for Victor. Alfred is convinced that he will find it by having more and more. Rosie, the black sheep of the building, resigned, refuses to play the game of this race for happiness. Balthazar, a new arrival in this microcosm, questions himself, observes, tries to understand what everyone is looking for.

What is happiness ? What makes us happy? Do we have to be? All these questions will shake up the fragile balance in the building and their “little inclinations” will be revealed to us!

Personal development books at the top of sales on the web and in bookstores, the search for the perfect selfie on social networks: happiness is always an intimate feeling that affects all aspects of life, but also a question of social representation and the image we project of ourselves.

How can we distinguish between authentic desire, fashion phenomenon and social injunction? Can happiness be different for different people? Is a successful life necessarily a happy life?

The injunction to happiness is an unspoken social rule – is it possible to break it by sharing our feelings on the issue? Would it be less difficult to live with if we were all aware of it? Could we create a collective indulgence on this subject, a right to so-called “negative” emotions, to failure, to non-performance?

The search for happiness is not a matter of age. In “Our little inclinations”, children and adults do not receive the message in the same way. The subject is treated without words, through the language of images, creating discrepancies with reality and offering poetry that everyone can subsequently interpret on their own scale. The wool that adorns the sets and the puppets is magnificently revealed by the play of light. This gentle choral show speaks to both parents and children, and envelops us in a caring space to share all our emotions.
