On 25 April 1974, there were around 20,000 Portuguese living in Luxembourg. How did they experience the Carnation Revolution? What were their expectations of the political upheaval in Lisbon? What demands did they make of Portugal's provisional government in terms of emigration policy and political participation (in elections in their country of origin)? Finally, in what way did this policy of care and connection constitute a revolutionary political change rather than a continuation of measures taken since the late 1960s? Spotlight on the relationship between the Portuguese state and the Portuguese in Luxembourg.
