On Friday, 6 December 2024, the "MusiqCITE – cross-cultural, musical and interpersonal exchanges" event will take place at the Luxembourg City Conservatoire.

Beginning at 19:00, a number of amateur music groups will showcase their talent and entertain audiences with music, dance and singing. After the concerts, the City of Luxembourg will host a reception where guests will be invited to discover an array of international products and foods.

Concert length: approx. 90 minutes (no intermission)

 

Programme:

  • BELLE BANDURA: Natalia and Nadia, acoustic duo from Ukraine, play traditional folk music on the Bandura
  • FOLKSYNC: dynamic duo fusing Indian folk dance with modern Bollywood moves
  • SAPALI KEURGUI: Senegalese traditional music group, who carry on the traditions of the griots and share their culture through music, dance and song
  • JUAN REYES Y EL MARIACHI SABOR A MÉXICO: Mariachi band playing regional Mexican music

The event will begin with a welcome address by Corinne Cahen, alderwoman responsible for social action and integration. Carisa Delgado will be the master of ceremonies for the evening.

Programme of awareness-raising events

The evening is part of the City of Luxembourg's series of events to raise awareness surrounding topics related to integration. These aim to foster dialogue between people of different nationalities and cultures, promote diversity and highlight the importance of considering intercultural issues on a daily basis.
