On Thursday, 19 September 2024, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen officially opened six new pop-up stores in the city centre and the Gare district.

The new pop-up stores

Discover these six new pop-up stores:

"Reggie's Californian Burrito"

"Reggie's Californian Burrito", at 43, rue Fort Neipperg, offers a range of Mexican-style dishes – including a wide assortment of tacos, burritos, bowls and salads – for take-away or eat-in dining. Whenever possible, all ingredients are sourced locally, and all dishes are freshly prepared on site.

"The Ome Store"

"The Ome Store", at 26, rue des Capucins, offers a range of hand-crafted candles made using a mixture of soy wax and beeswax. The candles are made using all-natural ingredients only – including natural dyes and cotton wicks – which means that they provide a clean burn.

"ZDEG'Z"

"ZDEG'Z", at 38, rue Philippe II, is a Parisian concept store offering a combination of streetwear (sneakers, sweatshirts, t-shirts etc.) and more formal items (shirts, trousers etc.). Customers will find a number of unique and original items for all occasions.

"Muka Collective"

"Muka Collective", at 43, Grand Rue, is an art gallery offering a selection of limited-edition paintings, sculptures and designer items designed and co-created by female artists from Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. Part of the proceeds from sales is donated to environmental protection initiatives.

"Spells & Spices – by Gaëlle"

"Spells & Spices – by Gaëlle", at 3, rue Jean Origer, offers an assortment of enchanting products and items designed to stimulate the senses. "Spells & Spices – by Gaëlle" is much more than just a store: Gäelle, its owner, has sought to create a warm and welcoming space offering creative workshops centred around themes such as personal wellbeing, astrology, spirituality, painting and more.

"VR Park"

"VR Park", at 64, avenue de la Liberté, is a one-of-a-kind experience in Luxembourg, offering as it does some of the most advanced virtual-reality games in the heart of the capital. Whether for birthdays, corporate events or days out with family or friends, VR Park promises an unforgettable experience. VR Park also carries a range of accessories for mobile phones.

The pop-up stores project

By providing commercial premises for rent on a short-term basis, the City provides creators, entrepreneurs and start-ups with a chance to test new products, services or concepts directly with their target audience. As such, the pop-up store concept is designed to serve as a springboard for tenants, who can gain experience working out of a brick-and-mortar store before launching their business on a permanent basis. Additionally, these temporary stores enhance the city's already rich commercial offering and broaden the city centre's appeal to a more diverse customer base.

Other current pop-up stores

  • "Fomeaux", at 40, rue Philippe II
  • "Boutique du monde", at 19-25, rue des Capucins
  • "LAFF", at 15, avenue de la Gare
