
On Tuesday, 25 February 2025, the City is hosting a Mardi Littéraire with a panel discussion entitled "Equality in and inclusion in sports: a reality?". After a welcome speech by Maurice Bauer, Deputy Mayor and Alderman for Equal Opportunities, panel members Colette Flesch, Katrin Kohl, Kimberley Nelting, Liz May and Sarah De Nutte will give their views on the subject and share their experiences with the audience. The evening will also include extracts from the book "140 Joer Lëtzebuerger Sportgeschichte(n) 1884 -2023" by Georges Klepper, the exhibition "Les sportives luxembourgeoises aux Jeux Olympiques depuis 1924" provided by the Conseil National des Femmes du Luxembourg (CNFL), and photos of the Olympic Games from the collections of the Maison du Grand-Duc. The round-table discussion will be moderated by Joëlle Letsch, managing partner of ADT-Center. The evening will be rounded off with an interactive discussion with the audience, followed by a drinks reception.
This event is being held in honour of International Women's Sports Day, which is celebrated on 24 January. It is being coordinated at national level by the CNFL upon the initaitive of the "Égalité F/H dans le sport" collective of 14 municipalities, which includes the City of Luxembourg.
