Sunday shopping
On the Sundays leading up to Christmas – namely 24 November, and 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 December 2024 – a wide range of shops in the capital will be open from 14:00–18:00 so that residents and visitors can do some Yuletide shopping while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Markets in Luxembourg City
Throughout the Winterlights festival, the Staater Maart will continue to be held every Wednesday and Saturday (except 25 December 2024 and 1 January 2025) at Place Hamilius from 7:30 to 14:00.
The Garer Maart, which is usually held on Thursdays at Place de Paris, will not take place between 7 November 2024 and 2 January 2025.
Christmas trees for sale
From 22 November to 24 December 2024, Christmas trees will be sold at the following locations:
- Place Jean Heinisch / Rue du Fort Elisabeth
- Place Léon XIII, Bonnevoie
- Champ du Glacis
- Merl Park, Boulevard P. Dupong
- Place Thorn
All trees sold here are sourced exclusively in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. Furthermore, these trees are grown in sheep pastures, meaning no machines are needed to maintain the grass around where they grow. Just another reason to choose to buy local trees.
