The Luxembourg City Photothèque (Photographic Archive) has extensive collections dating back to the very dawn of photography. The Photothèque also holds the City's Edward Steichen Collection. Initiatives promoting photography in Luxembourg include the biennial European Month of Photography, the PhotoMeetings and participation in the Rencontres d'Arles from 2017 to 2019.
