Description

The ŠKODA Tour de Luxembourg is a UCI-approved cycling road race organised annually by the Luxembourgish Cycling Federation (Fédération du sport cycliste luxembourgeois). The prologue, start and finish have traditionally taken place in Luxembourg City.

2024 programme

This year, the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg cycling road race will start in Rue du Fossé on Wednesday, 18 September 2024. The racers will then make their way through the countryside of the Grand Duchy, before finishing the first stage at Marché-aux-Poissons at the end of the day.

In the afternoon of Sunday, 22 September 2024, the racers will cross the finish line of the fifth and last stage in Limpertsberg.

As they near the end of the fifth and final stage of the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg, the riders will enter the city via the CR215 (new Rue de Bridel) and continue along Rue de Rollingergrund, Rue Albert Unden, Avenue du Bois, Rue Ermesinde, Rue des Roses, Rue des Glacis, Avenue Victor Hugo, Rue Michel Lentz, Rue Evrard Ketten, Avenue de la Faïencerie, Rue de Rollingergrund, Rue de Kopstal (N12), the CR181 and the CR215. The riders are expected to cross the finish line at Place Laurent on Avenue Victor Hugo in Limpertsberg between 14:30 and 15:30.

Road closures

  • Avenue Victor Hugo and Rue Henri VII will be closed to traffic between 9:00 and 19:00. Parking will also be prohibited between 6:00 and 22:00.
  • The following road sections will be closed to traffic from 7:00 to 9:00 and 12:30 to 17:00: Avenue du Bois between Rue Franz Seimetz and Rue Ermesinde; Rue Ermesinde between Avenue du Bois and Rue des Roses; and Rue des Roses. Parking will also be prohibited from 6:00 to 17:00.
  • The race route will be closed to traffic from 12:30 to 17:00, and parking will be prohibited in marked locations along the route from 8:00 to 17:00.

Changes to municipal bus services

The following changes to municipal bus services will be in force on Sunday, 22 September 2024:

  • From 9:00 to 12:30 and from 17:00 to 19:00 (approximately):
    • Line 2 buses: Buses operating travelling from "Hamilius" to Limpertsberg will be diverted after "Theater Quai 1" and continue their journey via Avenue du Bois, Rue Frantz Seimetz, Square André, Avenue Joseph Sax and Rue Nicolas Liez.
    • Service to "Theater Quai 1", "Lycée des Garçons Quai 1", "Alen Tramsschapp Quai 1", "Square André Quai 1", "Waassertuerm Quai 1", "Avenir Quai 1", "Siggy vu Lëtzebuerg" and "Lycée Michel Lucius Quai 2" will be suspended and buses will call instead at "Guillaume Schneider", "Bois", "Wassertuerm Quai 3", "Square André Quai 2" and "Lycée Michel Lucius Quai 1".

      Buses travelling from Limpertsberg to "Hamilius" will be diverted via Avenue Pasteur and Allée Scheffer.

      Service to "Avenir Quai 2", "Waassertuerm Quai 2", "Square André Quai 2", "Alen Tramsschapp Quai 2" and "Lycée de Garçons Quai 2" will be suspended and buses will call instead at "N. S. Pierret", "Alfred de Musset" and "Allée Scheffer" on Avenue Pasteur.

  • From 12:30 to 17:00 (approximately):
    • Line 2 and line 8 buses: Service to the Limpertsberg district will be suspended. Buses will operate between "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1" and the Champ des Glacis bus parking area (stop on Avenue de la Faïencerie). For buses travelling in both directions, there will be no service to the following stops: "Theater", "Lycée des Garçons", "Alen Tramsschapp", "Square André", "Waassertuerm", "Avenir", "Siggy vu Lëtzebuerg", "Lycée Michel Lucius", "Faïencerie/INL", "Henri VII", "Ermesinde", "Uni-Campus Limpertsberg" and "Batty Weber".
    • Line 3 and Line 30 buses: Line 3 buses travelling towards "Fondation Pescatore" will be diverted via Côte d'Eich. There will be no service to "Alen Eecher Bierg Quai 2", "Kiischtewee Quai 2", "Theater Quai 2" and "Fondation Pescatore Quai 2". Instead, buses will call at "Crispinus Quai 2" and "Badanstalt Quai 2". For line 3 to line 30 bus connections, travellers are advised to use the "Badanstalt Quai 2" stop instead of the usual "Fondation Pescatore Quai 2" stop. Line 3 buses travelling towards "Place Dargent" will also be diverted via Côte d'Eich. There will be no service to "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1", "Theater Quai 1", "Kiischtewee Quai 1" or "Alen Eecher Bierg Quai 1". Instead, buses will call at "Badanstalt Quai 2". For line 30 to line 3 bus connections, travellers are advised to use the "Badanstalt Quai 2" stop instead of the usual "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1" stop.
    • Line 4 and line 33 buses: Buses travelling in both directions will not call at "Fondation Pescatore", "Theater", "Kiischtewee" or "Alen Eecher Bierg" and will call instead at "Badanstalt" and "Crispinus".
    • Line 21 buses: There will be no service to parts of the Rollingergrund/Belair-Nord district or to Muhlenbach and Eich. After the "Val Fleuri" stop, line 21 buses travelling in both directions will be diverted via Val Saint André, Rue Alexandre Fleming and Rue Thomas Edison. There will be no service to the following stops in either direction: "Val St André", "Roudebierg", "Villeroy & Boch", "Peiffeschbierg", "Siwemuergen", "Eecher Schmelz", "École Eich", "Eecher Plaz" and "Eich Centre Culturel". Instead, buses will call at a temporary stop near 6–8, Val St André and at the "Strassen Primeurs" terminal stop.
    • Line 33 buses: In Muhlenbach, line 33 buses travelling in both directions will not call at the following stops: "Siwemuergen", "Peiffeschbierg", "Villeroy & Boch" and "Bambësch, Centre sportif" (terminus). The terminus will be replaced by a temporary stop in Rue des Sept-Arpents (opposite the building located at no. 5).

The City's Service Autobus (Bus Department) will be operating a shuttle service between the terminus in Rue des Sept-Arpents and the temporary "Bambësch, Centre sportif" stop in the Bambësch Sports Complex car park.
