The Service Sports (Sports Department) is primarily tasked with maintaining and developing the city's municipal athletic facilities. It thus plays a central role in the school system (physical education classes) and in the operation of local athletic associations (logistical and financial support).
In addition to these core duties, the Service Sports also offers and runs over 160 sports classes. Its "Sports pour Tous" (Sports for All) programme is designed for all ages and levels. Each year, the Service Sports also organises sports internships abroad. The "SdS Sport-Wochen" and the annual trip to Lenzerheide are among its most popular events.
