The Service Canalisation (Sewer Department) is responsible for water purification in Luxembourg City. It manages the public water mains network, including the various retention basins and pumping stations, and the water treatment plant in Beggen. The department is also in charge of maintaining Luxembourg City's waterways.
The Service Canalisation does not respond to service calls from individuals. If you experience any issues with your water supply, please contact your private-sector service provider.
If you wish to lay pipes, please be aware that this must be done in strict compliance with the "technical prescriptions for installing connections and sewers" (Prescriptions techniques d'exécution des raccordements et installations d'égout), as passed by the college of aldermen on 22 August 1991.
