UNESCO Promenade
Catered to all accessibility needs
The Promenade UNESCO tour will take you through a natural environment that features the majestic remains of the city's fortifications and Old Town, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1994. You will learn about the important role the city plays in European history. Departing from Place de la Constitution, the tour takes visitors directly past the city's old fortifications in the Pétrusse Valley, continues along the Corniche ("Europe's most beautiful balcony") and past the ramparts, and then through the Old Town.

The tour explains the actions and measures undertaken by the government and the City of Luxembourg to preserve the authenticity and integrity of the area of outstanding universal value "City of Luxembourg: its Old Quarters and Fortifications", which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour also includes a stop at the UNESCO Visitor Center in the Lëtzebuerg City Museum. The aim of the tour is to explain what criteria were considered in selecting Luxembourg City as a World Heritage site, draw attention to the city's historic urban landscape, and point out features that would enable participants to identify the protected areas.
