Inclusive sports

At the 2025 edition of "Rencontres sans frontières" (Encounters Without Borders), the focus will be on inclusive sport, with an expanded range of activities for people with special needs. These will include several new disciplines such as cycling, pétanque and curling, which will be organised in partnership with specialised groups. In addition, a graffiti workshop for young people will be held in collaboration with local artists.

Football tournament

The football tournament is open to both male and female players.

Teams must have seven players, one goalkeeper and two substitutes. To promote the mixing of different cultures, each team will be allowed to field no more than four players of the same nationality.

Matches last between 10 and 20 minutes; the exact duration will be determined once registrations have closed. Teams with fewer than nine players will be assigned additional players from among those who signed up individually.

Tournaments will be organised for the following age groups: ages 6–8, ages 9–11, ages 12–14, ages 15–17, and 18+ .

Beach volleyball tournament

The beach volleyball tournament is open to both male and female players aged 13 and over.

Teams must have five players: four on the field and one substitute. To promote the mixing of different cultures, each team will be allowed to field no more than three players of the same nationality. Teams with fewer than five players will be assigned additional players from among those who signed up individually.

 

Biking activities

From midday, a range of biking activities are planned at the Boy Konen Bike Park, including a tabletop, enduro track, north shore ramp, pump track and BMX track. Registration opens at 11:00 on the day.

Bikes will be on-hand for participants who did not bring their own and want to participate, subject to availability.

Participants must be at least 10 years old.

This year, the bike workshop will also be offering races for children aged 5 and over, as well as a balance bike obstacle course for toddlers. Pedal bikes and balance bikes will be provided, subject to availability.

The "Rencontres sans frontières" team will also be at the Festival of Migrations, Cultures and Citizenship (Festival des migrations, des cultures et de la citoyenneté) on 15 and 16 March 2025 at Luxexpo The Box, where they will also be taking registrations.
