Project description

The City is carrying out infrastucture works in Odendahl Park. These works are being carried out in collaboration with the following municipal departments:

  • VDL – Service Eaux (Water Department): Installation of a public water supply network in Odendahl Park to improve access in the Pfaffenthal district. This network will also enable the supply of drinking water during the Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA) show.
  • VDL – Éclairage public (Public Lighting Departing): Upgrading of the street lighting network in the western part of the park.
  • VDL – TIC (ICT Department): Rollout of the fibre optic network in Odendahl Park.

Works schedule

Commencement of work: autumn 2024

Expected duration: 100 working days

Planned completion: Spring 2025

Traffic information

The works will be carried out in several phases. The affected sections will be gradually closed off to pedestrian traffic as the project progresses.

Site detours for pedestrians and cyclists will be put in place throughout the various phases. After the collective winter leave, which ends on 15 January 2025, the entrance to the park on the Rue Vauban / Rue du Fort Olisy side will be closed for 2 weeks for safety reasons.

Which works are currently being carried out?

The contractor is currently laying the drinking water mains to ensure supply for the LUGA.
