Project description
The City will be carrying out redevelopment works on Rue Nicolas Adames. These works are being done in cooperation with:
- VDL – Service Voirie (Department of Streets): Complete rebuild of the superstructure. Planting of 12 new trees and replacement of old benches.
- VDL – Service Eaux (Water Department): Replacement of the water main and a number of home connections.
- VDL – Service Circulation (Traffic Department): Changes to traffic light posts at crosswalks.
- VDL – Service Éclairage public (Public Lighting Department): Replacement of public lighting.
- VDL – Service TIC (ICT Department): Replacement of existing networks.
- Creos Luxembourg SA Electricité: Replacement of the low-voltage/medium-voltage grids, and replacement of a number of connections to houses.
Works schedule
Commencement of work: March 2024
Expected duration of the works: 250 working days
Planned completion: May 2025
Traffic information
What is the current traffic situation?
For cars and pedestrians:
Parking spots will be removed as the works progress. In the event of any changes to vehicle access, appropriate signage will be put in place.
For businesses and deliveries:
The City of Luxembourg will try to ensure access for deliveries to local businesses throughout the duration of the works. As construction progresses, there will be changes to traffic flow in this area.
For public transport users:
No changes.
Progress to date
What work has already been completed?
The water mains, home connections, sewer inspection chamber for the Service Eaux, and part of the pavement and dry utilities have already been completed.
What work remains to be done?
The superstructure work and the final section of the dry utilities networks remain to be done.
Your home utility connections
- As part of the construction project, City representatives and private contractors will visit residents' homes.
- To assess the condition of their existing connections.
- If you wish to have your existing connections replaced, please inform the Luxembourg City representatives during this on-site inspection.

Stay informed
To make life easier for residents while these works are being carried out, the City of Luxembourg has implemented a series of measures, including the option to participate in meetings regarding the progress of the work. Residents affected by the works may participate in these meetings to obtain additional information about the project's progress and air any grievances they may have.

A meeting will be held on site every Tuesday at 11:00.
